Practice with Indy in sight

That is sooooo cute...... :) He was cute wasn't he? HA! HA!

Ok let's chat about practice... I am so glad you guys are really working hard at practice. The new libs are going to be awesome! They really add some difficulty and spice to your routine. I love the press heal stretches. Fliers concentrate on that leg locking out through the entire skill set. If the leg is bent you are going to come down. I saw a lot of fighting for skills the last two days. Excellent! Fliers start working those bow-n-arrows. It is suppose to be drop stretch up to bow-n-arrow. Did we tell you that? That is the goal!

I know we have been talking about level 4.2. If we want to go there we need fliers really concentrating on their locked leg. This will be important for inversion stunts and moving on to the next level. We also need bases to be ready for catching and working hard. Between fliers and bases there cannot be this constant blame game. We are a team/ We rise and fall as a team. The coaches will do a good job of letting folks know what is going on with group. Keep the finger pointing to a minimum and concentrate on the end goal. You have 5 coaches and 17 teammates (includes Annie... Hooray!). That is 5 chiefs and 17 Indians. :)

More of what we need to be working on to get ready for INDY!
- Baskets: Fliers, any chance you get to work on the tramp or the tumble track cheese pit work on your basket skills. Grab a coach or a teammate and have them tell you what you look like. We need to work ball stars, kicks and pretty girls. For a level 4.2 routine we need to work kick fulls or pretty girl kicks.

- Mount: I think your mount is looking pretty good. I would like to work on the transition between baskets and mount. We may be flip flopping those two. If there is ideas you want to try we can but the mount is pretty much maxed out for level 3. I would like you to compete that mount in Indy and show everyone how great you can do it! For a level 4.2 we would need to adjust it.

-Tumbling: For Indy we need to work on this area! Standing tumbling is one of the areas we are hurting the most. We need everyone on the team competing a double toe BHS and standing double BHS. I know there are several of you that are new to tumbling and you are doing a great job. Keep working those skills. We need as many of you at xmile working those tumbling skills! For those of you that are comfy tumblers we need to start working some fun combinations that are flashy and more folks doing punch fronts.

-Dance: There are couple of motions I want to change up but most of all we need you to sell that dance more and more. You did a great job on Sunday selling that dance. More winks! More smiles! More energy!

-Cheer: enough said... those motions are going to be changed! Many of you said that you did not like the motions or you feel awkward doing them. That is fine we will work it!

-Jumps: Are you working these at home? If not then why not? Every time you are watching tv you should be sitting in a straddle with your legs turned back with POINTED TOES! Do leg raises and do calf raises. You will be amazed at how much better you can work those jumps if you do a little on your own.

Putting on the Ritz...I mean Glitz!

Holy cow that was an amazing save on that mount. Great work saving it and then finishing the mount. That's what happens, you just gotta keep on going. The last element of the mount did go up and it hit. That's great - you received credit for the connection - hooray!

The dance looked so great and your smiles were perfect.

You have about 22 practices to get ready for Indy. There will be about 11,000 cheerleaders at Indy so we'll need to work you hard to get you ready to be your super duper best. Spend this time to be very serious with your tumbling. There were some touch downs this weekend that cost you a few points - spend the next 22 practices working to make sure those mistakes don't happen.

The time will zoom by - 22 sounds like a lot but it's nothing at all.

Don't forget that you're going to perform your routine on December 21 at the holiday show. Any changes that we make for Indy will be performed on December 21 (so you can test 'em out in front of a big crowd).

You'll spend your practice time working working working on Indy. We won't spend practice time working on any of the dance/solo pieces for the holiday show. Those are separate practices. Your All Star time will be spend on INDY!!!!

Yabadabado! We're very proud of you!

Great job Glitz!

Great job out there today Glitz! The libs looked super and I really liked your new mount.

You had some tumbling touch downs (head bonks on standing tumbling plus a few running tumbling errors). Those cost ya some points. Other than that, you are extremely close on points compared to the other teams.

I know it feels so unfair that you were against a coed large team. That's total rat farts. Coach Heather is continuing to work on that and we'll really work hard to make sure that never happens to you again.

Keep your chins and whiskers up! We're very proud of you. Fix those touch downs for Sunday and you'll put on a very good show.

Go Glitz....Go Panthers!

Fear the Claw!

We've been working hard for two weeks to get ready for Americheer. To give you the extra edge, Coach Heather arranged for a special surprise for you.

All Panthers will meet at the Convention Center at 3:00 on Saturday. Meet us by Hall E. From there we will escort you to the Panther Lair (your own private practice room and sanctuary). This room is designed to give the Panther teams the space to walk through routines and work to be flawless at Americheer. Being together in the room will help you work out the jitters and get super pumped to light up the competition floor.

This room is specifically for you - no other team will be permitted in the Panther Lair. It's not a parent or a sibling hangout spot. It is YOUR PRIVATE practice room - Panthers only. Coach Heather reserved it for the entire weekend. Isn't she the berries!

Yep, we're the nice gym in town. We don't retaliate against negative comments from other gyms. MPA All Stars are cute and sweet and they get good grades. What can I say? My kids are perfect angels.

The good guys should never be underestimated. Panthers look fluffy and gentle - but they are fearless in the jungle. They are mighty and strong and magnificent. They have no problem taking on a much larger animal and winning the fight. We expect you to be perfect fluffy Panthers at all times at Americheer (because Panthers have manners) - however, when you walk on the mat and the music starts....it's a different story. Get ready to unleash the beast!

Americheer- the dance

Glitz you now have your own page! Let's chat!

The mount is ready for Americheer and the new formations should help us out in being clean. I want everyone to really work on the dance and find spots where your shoulders are not facing the front when they should or if you are looking down too much. We really need to use that dance to our advantage and perform it like crazy! I want to see those judges up and getting physical with us! Be ready to rock it out this weekend! GO Glitz!

Glitz - Blog!

Hi there,

Here is your blog! Every few days (or sometimes each day), we'll post a few ideas on this page. You can click the comments link at the bottom and post your thoughts. You can post YouTube Videos and etc too. It's an easy way for the coaches to communicate with you and an easy way for you to share team ideas with your team!

Cheers to all,
Coach and the Gaggle
